How Much Can You Earn in Poland Working as a Driver for Popular Apps Like Uber and Bolt?

Transporting passengers through apps such as Uber and Bolt is still one of the most popular ways to earn extra income or even make a full-time living. In 2026, interest in this type of work remains high, especially in large cities where the number of customers is the highest. Many people choose to drive their own cars after regular working hours, while others treat it as a full-time occupation. However, the most common question remains: how much can you actually earn working as a driver?

What Determines the Earnings of an Uber or Bolt Driver?

There is no single fixed monthly income because everything depends on several important factors. The most significant aspects are the number of hours worked, location, and the periods of activity within the app. Drivers usually achieve the highest rates in the evenings, on weekends, and during large events, when the number of ride requests increases rapidly.

The type of car also matters. Newer and more comfortable vehicles allow drivers to complete better-paid rides. In large cities, some drivers also use multiple ride-hailing apps at the same time, which helps reduce downtime and increase the number of completed trips.

Current Driver Rates in Poland in 2026

In 2026, the average earnings of ride-hailing app drivers are higher than they were just a few years ago. The standard gross hourly rate in the largest Polish cities currently ranges from approximately PLN 50 to PLN 70 per hour. During peak demand periods, even higher earnings are possible, especially during weekend night shifts.

A driver working occasionally, for example 3–4 hours per day, can generate a monthly gross income of around PLN 4,500–6,000. After deducting vehicle operating costs, fuel expenses, and app commissions, the actual net income usually ranges from PLN 3,000 to PLN 4,200.

People working full-time earn significantly more. Many active drivers completing regular rides earn between PLN 9,000 and even PLN 13,000 gross per month. The final take-home pay usually falls between PLN 6,000 and PLN 9,000 net, although the best drivers can exceed this amount.

What Costs Does a Driver Have to Cover?

High revenue does not automatically mean pure profit. Drivers must consider many expenses related to the daily use of their vehicles. Fuel remains the largest expense, although more and more people are choosing hybrid or electric cars to reduce operating costs.

Additional expenses include:

  • vehicle servicing and repairs,
  • tire replacement,
  • insurance,
  • car washes and vehicle maintenance,
  • commissions charged by the apps,
  • tax settlements and accounting.

Some drivers also rent cars from fleet partners. In such cases, there is no need to invest in a personal vehicle, but monthly rental fees can significantly reduce the final profit.

In Which Cities Do Drivers Earn the Most?

The biggest earning opportunities are still found in the largest metropolitan areas. Warsaw remains the leader in terms of ride volume and rates. Drivers in Kraków, Wrocław, Poznań, and the Tri-City area also achieve very good results.

In tourist destinations, drivers can earn particularly high incomes during the holiday season. Smaller cities usually mean lower revenues, but competition between drivers is often lower as well. This makes it easier to maintain a steady number of rides.

Is Working for Ride-Hailing Apps Still Worth It?

Despite rising living costs and increasing vehicle maintenance expenses, working as an Uber or Bolt driver can still be profitable. For many people, the biggest advantage remains the flexible schedule and the ability to decide independently when to work.

The best results are achieved by drivers who carefully plan their activity and work during the hours with the highest demand for rides. In 2026, working through ride-hailing apps can still be considered a stable source of income, especially in large cities and with regular activity.
