10 best countries to live in

Below are the top 10 countries in the ranking. What distinguishes them from other countries?

10. New Zealand

New Zealand keeps its glorious 10th place in the ranking. This country is distinguished above all by the high level of health of its inhabitants. In addition, it has a good climate for living.

9. Luxembourg

In this year’s ranking, Luxembourg fell from 6th to 9th place. Its position is due to the highest GDP per capita.

8. Switzerland

Switzerland dropped from 4th to 8th place in the ranking. It owes its already high position to a stable economy, high wages and employment stability.

7. Norway

This time Norway was ranked 7th. Last year it took 8th place. This promotion was guaranteed by Norway’s high marks for social support, GDP per capita and freedom to make life choices.

6. Sweden

This is another Scandinavian country that has been in the top 10 best places to live for several years now. This year, Sweden climbed one place higher. This is related to the very high trust of citizens in the government, which translates into a happy and peaceful life.

5. Netherlands

In 2022, the Netherlands took 5th place and stays there in 2023. All thanks to the pro-social policy of the state (health care, family benefits, financial support). It is also a country friendly to foreigners.

4. Israel

Once again, Israel appears in the top 10, moving up from 9th to 4th place! A very well-conducted COVID-19 vaccination campaign has put this country in such a high position. In addition, strong social ties should be appreciated.

3. Iceland

Iceland repeats its success from the previous year taking 3rd place on the podium. This is the country with the highest marks for social support. Icelanders as a nation create a community built on understanding, support, a sense of security and belonging.

2. Denmark

Denmark once again takes 2nd place! Anyone who has delved into the Danish philosophy of life has certainly come across the concept of hygge. This Danish word describes a state in which we feel comfort, convenience and kindness. According to the Danes, the key to happiness is meeting people regularly.

1.Finland

The winner of the World Happiness Report in 2023 is Finland, which has been in first place several times over the past 10 years. Finland is distinguished from other countries by high trust in the authorities and freedom. The Finnish philosophy of life – called sisu – talks about perseverance, courage and strong will. Finns stubbornly pursue their goals despite adversity. It is also worth mentioning the close relationship of Finns with nature. Despite the harsh climate, they spend a lot of time outdoors.
