
According to the latest data from the Central Statistical Office (GUS), about 13% of all employees in Poland, or 1.5 million Poles, receive the minimum wage. Due to government plans, the minimum wage will only be increased once this year. So, how much will be the minimum wage in Poland in 2025?
The minimum wage is regulated by the Minimum Wage Act. In 2019, the government decided to raise the minimum wage annually. In previous years, there was a two-stage increase in the minimum wage – in January and July. However, in 2025, the minimum wage will be raised only once throughout the year.

The minimum wage in Poland in 2024 was increased twice, reaching 4242 PLN gross – 986,5 EUR gross (approx. 3221.98 PLN net), then 4300 PLN gross – 1000 EUR gross (3261.53 PLN net), with the minimum hourly rate set at 27.70 PLN gross – 6,44 EUR gross from January and 28.10 PLN gross – 6,53 EUR gross (approx. 22 PLN net) from July. In 2024, the minimum wage ultimately increased by 1000 PLN (232,5 EUR) compared to 2023.
What is the Impact of the Increase in the Minimum Wage in Poland?
The increase in the minimum wage in the country, while beneficial for employees, causes changes in nearly every sector of the economy, including contributions, taxes, benefits, fines, and severance pay.
Who Else Benefits from This?
The increase in the minimum wage is intended for employees working under employment contracts as well as some contractors earning wages under service agreements.
The amount of the minimum hourly rate is directly tied to the minimum wage. Additionally, the cost of certain benefits automatically increases, including:
- Night work allowance – between 9 PM and 7 AM (calculated based on the salary and the number of hours to be worked in the given month).

Who Will Lose Out?
The most affected in this case will be the employer, who in most of the aforementioned cases is forced to bear increasingly higher costs of employee employment and other benefits.

Minimum Wage in Poland in 2025
The minimum wage in 2025 will be increased once. In January 2025, the minimum wage will be 4666 PLN gross (3510.92 PLN net), which is 1085 EUR gross. The hourly rate in January 2025 will rise to 30.50 PLN gross (approximately 26 PLN net) – 7 EUR gross.
